This place has become our fave spot for pizza. The pizza is so damn good. And above all, their service is excellent. Definitely recommend this place.

So this pizza spot is obviously highly ranked already before I even put my 5-star rating in and I'll explain why.
This new york-style pizza also does Detroit deep-dish but we didn't do the deep dish this time, we'll hit that up next round.
So the environment is very lounge-type it has a couch corner space for drinking night caps with a good friend or potential new girlfriend or boyfriend. We ate in the back corner was a little dim but once your eyes adjust it really seemed to be fine. Wait staff was really nice and patient and was good about making sure drinks were refilled or we had second round if we wanted it. We did stop in after 9 so we tried some of their happy hour food and drinks. I didn't take a picture of it but I did have the garlic bread bites highly highly recommend they were delicious. One of the main reasons I would definitely be on board with the eating leaves again is ordering the garlic aioli as a dipping sauce. Now onto the main Pizza I always order a pepperoni with extra cheese and sausage if able to. I usually do this for the same reason as I get a nice bass of what type of pizza this restaurant will make. The pizza came out very flimsy in a traditional New York style pizzas which I'm on board with! The pizza was pepperoni sausage extra cheese and had fresh mozzarella. The sauce was light not heavy and not super zesty. The pepperonis were crunchy but not very fatty that you would normally get when you have a pepperoni pizza and the oil drips off your hand and all over. This pizza was not very oily and did not do that. So in closing check this pizza place out it's phenomenal I'll be coming back ready to try the Detroit style pizza. And bring my family along! Also we tried a dessert and we would definitely recommend it it leans a little bit on the citrus side which I do appreciate!
This place is pretty good. Have dined in here before, but this time we ordered online for delivery. It was delivered in a reasonable amount of time, we live fairly close to here. Ordered the "Detroit Style" pizza, which was very tasty. Only thing is we didn't realize they are only 8" x 10" inches, almost small enough for one person if you've got a good appetite. We should of ordered two of these, so we'll know next time.
East Glisan Pizza Lounge is a hip pizza joint that serves delicious drinks, super yummy pizza and much more! I LOVE their Detroit Pizza, and the Capicola pizza is equally as good. The lasagna is served on Sundays only - wow, just wow. They have this hot oil on the table that is so good, that they have to lock it up because patrons kept stealing it!! It makes my mouth water simply writing this review. Do yourself a favor and come here! They are only open for dinner service, so plan accordingly.
I was looking forward to trying this. I do love Detroit style pizza. The website says they add 20% tip to takeout orders automatically. WHY? There is no tipped service being performed (i.e., delivery, keep drinks full, bus tables) with takeout service. Takeout service is not something to be tipped. The price of the pizza covers the ingredients, cooks... Forcing a tip when no tip is earned is poor policy, and one that will prevent me from going.
*Update* It saved me a trip. I'm glad I was clear about why I'm not going to be a customer. You're not going to force an unearned tip from me, unless perhaps you can justify why a tip is earned for takeout?
Good service, friendly staff. Their wood oven cooked dough is great but I didn't love their house vegan cashew cheese. Cesar salad and bread sticks were delicious but for the oily bread crumbles. Beer was fresh and properly poured. Looking forward to trying other pizza flavors.
Update: So, we went back as suggested by the reply below from the restaurant (later deleted by them for some reason?) . Tried the Margherita with the commercial cheese. There was some confusion as they first told us it was FYH cheese and it turned out to not be. The marguerita wasn't a traditional recipe, not enough cheese, too much tomato sauce and bit too acid, too. Overall it is unfortunate as they have a great wood woven sour dough, but the toppings are not the best. Maybe they could check secret society and Rudy's vegan options and get inspired to improve.
I am from Detroit and East Glisan is one of my favourite Detroit style pizzas in town, hands down! The kale-Cesar is excellent. The staff, ambience and mood in here is always warm and inviting! Do yourself a favour. Consider it self-care!!
The polenta crust on the gluten free is incredible. I do not miss the regular flour crust. I feel like I have pizza back in my life. The chickpea fritters are like savory donuts with the perfect dipping sauce. My new favorite comfort food.
